2006 Stadium Development
Dewsbury had started talks with Ossett Town Football Club late in 2005 – discussions centred on a potential groundshare. The opportunity being presented to Ossett as part of an ambitious ground development project, initially reported as costing £1m, plans had been drawn up for a 5-a-side football complex. By February 2005, the development was revealed as being more ambitious than originally thought – instead £5m was being discussed to increase the stadium capacity, develop the football complex and incorporate a nature reserve.
Sadly these plans which would support future super-league ambitions were not to come off.
