Roy Harter could be described as an unsung hero for the Dewsbury club – whilst he was regarded as one of the best forwards to play for the club in the 1950’s, his contributions as club chairman, vice-chairman, finance chairman and trustee were his greater achievements. Roy was made an honorary life member of the club after 30 years’ service and was held in high regard across the RL family.
