The Rams became the first club in British Rugby League to have their own, bespoke, recorded ‘anthem’ to be played at the ground on match days – recorded by Gawthorpe Brass ‘85 who adapted and renamed the traditional “She wore a yellow ribbon” to create “The Amber Ribbon”. Energy Costs
Midway through 2008, Dewsbury were affected by a hike in energy costs – just as in 2023, the impact of a failed energy supplier took its toll on club finances. Having budgeted £1500/ month on energy bills, they were unexpectedly faced with £3500/ month – as a result spending on the team was curbed ahead of the 2008 season starting.
