1994 Out of the Ashes by Malcolm Haigh
September 1994 marked a new chapter in Dewsbury’s history – they would take the field at their brand new stadium. Costing £1.7million, the ground was a world away from the Crown Flatt stadium that had been lost to fire six years earlier.
The grit and determination of the club – shown by their ensuring a match would go ahead against Wakefield Trinity only 6 days after the fire – had resulted in a purpose built stadium on the Owl Lane site.
