2000 Civic Reception
A civic reception was organised for the Northern Ford Championship winning side in August 2000 – supporters gathering outside of the Town Hall to greet the open top bus. The dramatic climax to the match (Dewsbury won with a successful drop goal late in the match) had created a buzz in the town and an optimism that Dewsbury could go on to Super League.
