2017 Australian Touring Side The Yowies at Tetley Stadium
For the first time since 1973, an Australian touring side would take on Dewsbury. The Tetley Stadium welcomed Newcastle based club, The Yowies on January 15 2017. The match, a pre-season warm up for Dewsbury Rams, was a close affair – The Yowies coming out on top, 28-30. Previous visits by Australian test sides:

Dewsbury Rams’ doctor stood down after 32 seasons at the end of the 2014 season.
