Baines Cards

Named after John Baines, inventor of the football card in 1885, Baines cards were collectable by rugby league fans. Cards from the early twentieth century often featured star local players of the time – these are a selection produced about Dewsbury.

1921 Australasian Tourists Souvenir Programme

 Open publication full screen Darren Barstow has generously donated a rare souvenir programme from the 1921 visit of the Australasians touring side to Dewsbury. The programme costing two pence details the team, their playing records and interestingly, the results of the 1920-21 Season when the league was decided on a percentage basis – Dewsbury coming out on top.
