Ted Fozzard – Footballer and Pigeon Fancier Fred (Ted) Fozzard played in the 1911/12 cup winning team for Dewsbury, having started his career at Batley in 1895. Named after John Baines, inventor of the football card in 1885, Baines cards were collectable by rugby league fans. Cards from the early twentieth century often featured star local players of the time – these are a selection produced about Dewsbury.
