1949 Dewsbury Walk off
In 1949, in a bad-tempered match against Wakefield Trinity, captain Harry Royal led his players off the field in protest at the third sending off of a Dewsbury player. They did eventually return to the field after a plea from the Dewsbury President – going on to lose the match and then fined £20 by the Rugby League.

1948 Harry Royal International Call Up Text Harry Royal received his international call up for the Welsh team against the Australians in a formal letter – he was instructed to be in Swansea at 2pm on Thursday at the St Helens ground and reminded that he would need to bring his own training kit!
